Bifrost: Long Live Valhalla

Whether you are a current member or former, I ask that you read this in its entirety. So get comfy and grab a drink, it’s a long one.

The explanation I owe… 25% of you

We converted to membership in June 2024. For the eight months after that, this place was “home” again. Activity, fun, ninety percent of the room green on the same day. I ran a warm-up challenge from $54 and closed it in January 2025 at 59 wins, 13 losses and +1,760%, and on the way there it passed the percentage the original challenge account was sitting at the day RSX got halted. We did it again, without a massive macro event or a once-in-a-lifetime squeeze. Just catalysts, every day, religiously.

Then at the end of that same month, I posted “I’m taking a short break to do some dev work”. The break was not short. In fact, it’s now been a year and a half.

So that is to say, I know there’s a lot of disappointment in post-membership Valhalla, and I’m not going to use word wizardry to spin it around. The people most let down were the exact people who backed this place the hardest, and that eats at me more than most of you know. So to those people: I’m sorry. I messed up. Just not in the way most of you concluded, but more on that in a second.

As for the explanation, there are two needed. Starting with the silence, which is where I messed up, and it definitely wasn’t part of the plan. A health issue surfaced last year. Years of stress and insomnia decided to go for a kill shot and it nicked me like down syndrome nicked Shane Gillis. When I recovered it took quite a while before I felt like myself again, so everyone stopped hearing from me: Valhalla, my friends, even my family. Over time the lingering symptoms subsided and I started to return to form. I’m perfectly fine now, with the added bonus of something being caught and fixed so I can continue to stay up all night and learn nothing from the experience.

The second part is that the server was never abandoned and I was doing exactly what I said. I had a lot more time to spend working on things and Valhalla was absolutely one of them. Several hours a day. Most days a week. For a year and a half. The work wasn’t in the right order for optics, but it was in the right order for actually making “the real thing” after all these years.

“The positions system?” they asked. No, I wasn’t making the positions system. I didn’t communicate that well at all, mainly because I kept directly saying I was making the positions system but it never had the proper “… after I finish the real thing” because I kept failing to even explain what the real thing was. It was stated though in the announcement, hell it’s even in the banner when you enter the server:

But even that undersold the full vision. So at times when my dedication started to waver I’d give up and announce that I was just going to release something lesser, but as you’ll learn, I didn’t want to do that, so I didn’t, which doesn’t play well when you’ve caught down syndrome social anxiety after your brain got tired of your shit and tried to murder you. So I tried harder to explain and that’s when I started getting “But, everyone has ChatGPT”, so I gave up trying to explain a master plan I hadn’t even successfully explained to the person that I live with and just started saying “Bifrost is coming” like I was starting my own Norse-themed doomsday cult. I’ll have to ask ChatGPT if that’s a thing.

So while you thought I was gone, I was here, just down in the lab dusting off the lab coat and trying to remember where I put the box full of idiot science.

Remember the “Valhalla Community Trading System”?

Of course you do. The year is 2021. The plays? Epic. The Navy? Gay. The pitch? Simple. The forum becomes our database of plays, and a system filters the firehose down to only what matters to us. Simple concept. I then proceeded to fail at building it more times than most of you probably remember. The forum? Failure. Dashboard 1.0? Failure. Mimir and its AI bells and whistles? Greatest failure in the name of Best Korea. Catalysts? Our most respectable and profitable failure yet. Every attempt got closer, and every attempt still landed as a gimmick well short of the “ascension level tools” I kept pitching at VC nights to crowds of five.

So when we converted to membership I was extremely serious about one specific bullet point on the plan, the “Custom Built Catalysts Trading System” from earlier. You see, the positions system was about accountability. It was never a part of the main plan, we made it because people were lying about gains. The main plan was the research, profitability and the plays, we just kept getting trapped in the gimmicks and “this’ll do for now” while we were busy appeasing and managing the “good traders”.

Catalysts was about profitability. Remember from earlier in this post that I said we beat the first challenge percentage with that trading style without anything “big” happening? High Catalysts usage led to one of the most sustained periods of green that trading-floor had ever seen. You know what the focus wasn’t on during that time? The “good traders”. The plays got hall of famed, not the people who opened them, not a trading performance role in sight, we celebrated the wins together and thanked whoever made the thread. So if you think you were unhappy about the state of the features in Valhalla, I know someone that definitely was far less happy and he’s typing this post right now. I’d spent years building and it was all just kinda worthless and the one thing that I had faith in just kept not getting built.

So I fucking built it. Introducing “the real thing”, the entire thing I pitched in 2021, complete and running. Then, when I could’ve called it a day, I remembered that I’m not building this in 2021, it’s 2026 and people needed to be reminded of something. So that 2021 idea? It’s now the most boring part of Bifrost. The thing that embodied ascension itself for us is outdated. But let’s introduce it first:

Nexus

Reading is fundamental and we kinda hate doing it. EDGAR, FRED, FINRA, the FDA, every newswire that matters and 15 more sources streaming in, captured within seconds of publication. Every filing, release and print is analyzed by a reader hand built for it specifically, because a 10-Q and an 8-K are different documents with different places to look. And half the time the important bit isn’t what a document says, it’s what it says now versus last quarter, or doesn’t say at all. If momentum is detected and our streams don’t surface anything, Nexus grabs a big net and goes out into the interwebs to research what might be missing.

Each reader pulls out any surprises it finds. Then, it judges whether any of it matters. Because most filings are nothing and if the system can’t tell when it’s nothing it’s not a filter, it’s a firehose with a couple extra feet of pipe.

But extraction doesn’t stop there. Any important dates are pulled and added to the meta calendar (which I’ll have to cover in another post), for example lock-up provisions along with their exact terms and schedule:

So that’s the 2021 dream, fully built: a firehose filtered to what matters. Connect that bad boy to some threads and the dream of Catalysts is realized. But, like I said, we’re not stopping short this time. This? That’s 2021 and the community has learned a lot of lessons since then. We needed a modernized vision that incorporated them, made for us. So yeah, that shit right there? It’s muh old shit. It’s the boring layer. Let that sink in.

I’ll wait…

Oh you want to know what isn’t boring? What I’ve been doing? Alright then…

In the mythology, Heimdall guards the Bifrost. He sees infinitely, he hears the grass grow (which would be mad annoying if you think about it). I named this layer after him because I can’t think of a better on-theme way to describe what the nine stages of reasoning I hand built do when you chain them into one continuously thinking quantitative (qualitative? who knows anymore) model that is entirely our own. It’s the most complex thing I’ve ever designed, by a mile, and it’s where the year and a half, all those random AI experiments and that idiot science I unpacked went.

Heimdall crafts arcs. An arc is the story around a Catalyst… the lead-up, the event, the fallout at ticker, group, sector and macro scale, each one aware of its own phase from anticipation through ramification. It doesn’t require a watchlist because it’s watching over everything, all the time.

A company says it needs cash in March and rallies enough in August to do an ATM offering? Heimdall remembers the broke-as-fuck disclosure and does you a solid and reminds you. It remembers the sector peer reporting earnings the night before it wrecks your play. It remembers every catalyst coming down the pipe weeks out, and lets you know ahead of time when it thinks the entry might be right:

It projects. Every arc gets a forward map of likely events complete with what would disprove the prediction and then it watches. It watches IV, price levels, and can even check for specific wording in a filing that doesn’t exist yet. It grades itself, learns lessons and re-assesses when needed. When a stock moves out of nowhere, it actively finds out why and updates its entire view of the universe. On its own.

It connects. Arcs aren’t a vibe like “AI stocks are hot”. AI is hot, so it figures memory is expensive, so storage will be expensive, so here are the 15+ tickers with execs about to buy mountains of cocaine, every line tracked and confirmed independently.

When the first domino starts to wobble, Heimdall already has the rest of them ready and it’s been watching them for weeks.

This is what we used to do by hand. We remember those times as “the good times”. Ukraine, we nailed it, and it took a month of not sleeping for a lot of us, constantly thinking, searching, adjusting. It does that in the background for every story in the market at once.

Guess what? All that? It’s the beginning of the loop. The stages that come after sit above the entire universe of arcs, deciding what is meaningful enough to speak up about. When it does, everything it says comes with the documents it’s citing and the exact conditions that would prove it wrong. And it keeps watching for changes in the picture, letting you know the second the opportunity is disproven, changes or gets better.

Where does its taste come from? From here. It runs on a graded dataset built out of this community’s history. The plays that paid, the logic that held up, the information we wish to god we’d had at the time. Every lesson this place ever paid tuition on, it already knows. It’s the “crowdsourced Quant” I first talked about in 2022, except it went to Ascension-U and graduated with honors.

Fancy. But does it work?

DOES IT WORK? Well, yeah, that’s a fair question and one of my biggest worries. How would any of that ever actually work? So it’s been running for a while so I could make sure. Some pulls from testing:

A stock rips 20% on FDA approval. Heimdall points at the most recent filing, where management mentioned on the side that they needed money for build-out, and calls high probability of an ATM offering within 1-5 days. The ATM drops that evening and the stock gets beaten like it’s in the Jackson 5. Heimdall wasn’t reacting to the pop, the arc had “these guys said they need money” noted since the day the filing hit and had that info at the ready the second the stock popped.

A company announces an AI partnership with FIFA and the stock does absolutely fuck all. Heimdall notes earnings are that same evening, that news dropped hours before a report is a defensive move, and that institutions will sit on their hands until after the call, then price it all in. Then it was wrong… kidding, that’s what happened.

Old us catches those maybe one time in ten? When it’s one of those days where we wake up fresh and just so happen to remember everything we learned and feel like actually reading something. The other nine, we hold overnight into the dilution, or cut the boring one right before it runs, and spend a week saying “we should’ve known.” We should’ve. Now there’s something that does.

Still not impressed? Alright then:

DELL earnings drop. Heimdall had been watching this report to see if margins were shrinking from memory and storage pricing. When it reads the numbers it decides the guidance raise outweighs those concerns and calls the stock upward, allowing for a delay while it waits on analyst upgrades. It starts watching for a filing walking back the guidance and sets $425 as the level where the call is over.

The stock opens, tanks, we call out watching that $425 level for entries, it taps $430, the PT upgrades start rolling in and it’s ran to $522 since.

Oh and remember how I mentioned it was watching the earnings for margin information? That margin data still got extracted and pushed into the connected arcs, into the projections in the other parts of the universe where it matters.

Still not impressed? Okay. August 18th, you unimpressable, probably degenerate fuck:

Stock was at $13 when that printed. It ran to $24, and the next report showed a significant reduction in short interest.

DO YOU FEEL IT? DO YOU FUCKING FEEL THE FIRE IN YOUR LOINS? Surely I’m cherry picking. Surely it called 1000 squeezes and this was the one I’m showing you. Guess. What? Guess how many squeezes it called at this point after processing tens of thousands of events. Two. That’s right, out of all the noise, it only spoke up about two short squeezes and it got one of them RIGHT.

Actually I lied, I’m sorry BECAUSE IT GOT BOTH OF THEM RIGHT. The second was WETO, where it called a short squeeze dying because a PIPE registration was going effective. A sell-the-news call. Also correct.

So yes, degens, the squeeze research is in there too. IV, FDA, the earnings research, idiot science… everything we ever traded, plus setups it finds entirely on its own, because that’s a key detail. There is no prompt telling it what to watch. It decides what matters and it decides what to watch. Confusing? Year and a half. In the lab.

Bifrost is every lesson this community ever learned, weaponized against the market, and it’s for Valhalla and for everyone who stayed and supported the community when we converted to membership. This post doesn’t even cover all that Bifrost is. The Meta Calendar, Positions, Scanners and Arc Commentary are all there, and I look forward to you seeing them for yourselves.

To those still here and still contributing: you have my absolute gratitude. Pintstealth, you went above and beyond and deserve the direct thank you you’re getting here. Thank you. Genti, I’m sorry the timeline disappointed you. That’s fair. It was a hell of a timeline, but it was as quick as I could manage given the massive scope. It’s more than those two callouts. I truly mean it: thank you to everyone who went through the conversion and supported the community. I wouldn’t have taken on something like this if it wasn’t for that moment, and it’s why, even after everything, it’s still being released. The faith was always going to be rewarded.

Of Course I’m Going to Talk About It

There’s an elephant in the room that we’re about to address the hell out of.

As you’ll remember from the conversion, Patrons were grandfathered in at $1-5, meaning anyone that had been an original supporter only paid that amount. Anyone who voiced issues publicly or privately about affording the fee was comp’d, no questions asked. Anyone who had a card that religiously declined I assumed to be in that camp, and they were comp’d without having to ask. Even most people who told their bank they had never heard of Valhalla and charged back multiple months had it returned to them without a fight from me, and I paid an additional month’s worth of fees to provide that to them.

So what does that mean? It means that close to 75% of those with the member role didn’t or don’t pay the monthly fee.

So with all of that said, yes there were five months where the server turned a profit during my silence. It was then incinerated in the first two weeks of Bifrost development.

The server wasn’t “made free” because it’s not free. The server was contributing, from the start of development, less than half of what the costs were after years of me donating my time and money. I asked the server to contribute because I wanted to push us to a new level and I responded to that gesture of faith by further increasing the disparity between our contributions. “Making the server free until features are done” suggests a relationship we simply don’t have. The server doesn’t pay me. The server pitches in. I just never put it that way because it cheapens what it means to me.

So when it comes to the question of how someone who was seemingly so dedicated to having integrity in the past became a grifter and took advantage of the community, the answer is the one that should’ve been obvious:

He didn’t.

The Gates are Open

Now, this is the part where I’m supposed to ask everyone to come back. I’m not going to. I’m not going to spend a year and a half cooking dinner for the family and then beg people to come eat.

What I’ll say is this. The mission hasn’t changed since the first post in this server: gains, pure and simple. And this community’s edge was never trading roles or the morning show. It was the research. When we were on, nobody could touch us, and that’s why after hours were so fun: it was a celebration of the work paying off. The morning show wasn’t popular because you wanted to hear my voice. It was popular because I’d been up until 1AM reading, and up again hours before open watching things move, and that spilled into the server until everyone was doing it. The only problem was that I burned out by the end of the warm-up each time. Then the server burned out. And we drifted until everyone lost interest waiting for the next time I was “on” to wake things up again.

“On” is now a permanent state.

We are the only trading community on earth with its own quant, built on its own history, that never sleeps and never forgets. The gap between us and every other server just went from wide to insurmountable.

That thing people needed to be reminded of? This is the greatest trading community in existence. It holds that title at 10 members or 1,000, and at this moment I’ve built this for the 10. I stopped recruiting because the people I was building this for were already here. The comps, the grandfathering, the calls for “positivity”… that was never me keeping the server on life support. That was me keeping you in the room so you wouldn’t miss this moment.

I feel so strongly about it that the gates are open for two weeks. That’s right, no Ko-Fi. Anyone can join with this invite link: Valhalla and Mimir will hand you the Free Trial role automatically. Meanwhile, Ko-Fi is set back to $25, the original rate, and anyone above $25 will be reduced to it too. The rate goes up in October, and same as last time, anyone in at $25 before then keeps $25. If you come back you’ll be welcomed like you never left. If you stay gone, I wish you well.

A few years back, when people were asking where I’d gone, I told you I wasn’t gone for good, I was just building you a Quant that would grant market edge which would change lives for Christmas. It’s four Christmases late, but Quantza is coming early.

Oh, I almost forgot. Bifrost drops on Monday, my friends. Happy Quantza. :pepepray:

This is why I’ve been hanging around through long periods of not trading, I knew something was coming if I was patient and this is so much better than I could have anticipated. Super pumped to dive into the new tools.
